Description

I/B/E/S (IBES), the Institutional Brokers' Estimate System, is a database from Refinitiv (previously, Thomson Reuters). The database is accessible via the WRDS platform and provides forecasts by more than 30,000 financial analysts working at more than 3,000 brokerage firms across the world. 

The forecasts are provided for nearly 20,000 firms in the United States, and more than 40,000 firms internationally. The data includes 

  • summary (consensus) 
  • individual analyst-level forecasts on
    • company earnings
    • cash flows
    • dividends
    • EBITDA
    • other important financial items. 
  • price targets
  • buy-sell-hold recommendations.
